These are short answers to the questions people ask most about MingPath and the 2027 Fire Goat year. Method and interpretation are by Daniel Siew.
What is MingPath?
MingPath is a plain-language BaZi service by Daniel Siew. It starts with a free chart check that shows how 2026 has been showing up in your own chart, and continues with the MingPath Year Ahead report for 2027.
What is the MingPath Year Ahead report?
It is the 2027 MingPath Report: 26 to 27 personalised pages that set out how 2027 meets your own BaZi chart, month by month. It is built from your chart and from a short personalisation form that you fill in. The method and the interpretation are Daniel Siew's.
What is in the MingPath 2027 report?
It covers how 2027 interacts with your individual BaZi chart, the key opportunities and pressures of the year, the month-by-month conditions and what each month favours, the months where conditions are strongest and why, your personal strategic direction for the year, and three strategic moves selected for you.
What is the personalisation form, and does my focus change the reading?
After your free 2026 reading, you choose one main focus and up to two secondary focuses from six areas: Career & Leadership, Business & Entrepreneurship, Wealth & Financial Decisions, Relationships, Well-being & Personal Balance, and Personal Direction. Your focus changes what the report emphasises. It never changes the chart facts, the timing or the meaning. Your chart decides those.
How do I order the 2027 report?
Start with the free 2026 reading. From there, choose the option for your 2027 report, complete the personalisation form with your contact details, and you will be contacted about payment and the next steps.
What is BaZi (八字)?
BaZi, also called the Four Pillars of Destiny, is a classical Chinese system that builds a personal chart from your birth date and time. The name means eight characters: a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch for each of the Year, Month, Day and Hour pillars.
What is the free 2026 chart check?
It is the first step on MingPath. You enter your name, birth date, birth time, birth place and time zone, and it shows your chart and how 2026 has been showing up in it, before you look at 2027.
What do I need to enter?
Your name, your birth date, your birth time, your birth place and the time zone you were born in. The birth time is required, because the Hour Pillar of your chart depends on it.
What if I do not know my birth time?
The report needs a reliable birth time, and MingPath will not guess the hour to complete a chart. The form marks the birth time as required, and it is usually written on your birth certificate. If you cannot confirm it, find it first, for example from a family member or the hospital record.
What is Li Chun (立春) and why does the BaZi year start on 4 February 2027?
Li Chun, the Start of Spring, is the solar term that opens the BaZi year. In 2027 it falls on 4 February, two days before Chinese New Year on 6 February 2027. BaZi follows Li Chun, not the New Year date, so the Fire Goat year begins on 4 February 2027.
What is the Fire Goat (丁未) year?
The Fire Goat year, Ding Wei (丁未), is the BaZi year that begins on 4 February 2027. Ding (丁) is Yin Fire, a steady flame. Wei (未) is Earth. It follows the Fire Horse year, Bing Wu (丙午), which runs until 3 February 2027.
Is 2027 a good year or a bad year?
It is neither for everyone. The Fire Goat year brings warm, steady Fire energy, and how it lands depends on your own chart and element. The page on the Fire Goat year gives general themes for each of the five elements.
Which element am I, and what does 2027 mean for it?
In BaZi your element comes from your own chart, so you need your birth details to find it. Once you know it, the Fire Goat year page explains the general theme for Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal or Water. The free MingPath check calculates your chart for you.
Is MingPath a prediction?
No. MingPath reads the themes and timing in your chart, in plain language, to help you prepare. It does not promise events, and it is not medical, legal or financial advice.
How is MingPath different from a free horoscope or the Chinese zodiac?
The 12-animal zodiac gives one animal for each birth year, so it is broad. BaZi uses four pillars, built from the year, month, day and hour of birth, so the chart is specific to you. MingPath reads that personal chart.
Who created the MingPath method?
Daniel Siew, a Malaysia-based classical Feng Shui, BaZi and Qi Men Dun Jia consultant. The method and the interpretation rules are his.
Is the MingPath report written by AI?
The reading is produced by Daniel Siew's own MingPath method and calculation engine. It uses text that Daniel approved, and the engine calculates your chart and selects the passages that apply to it. It is not written by hand for each person, and it is not fortune telling. The method and the interpretation are Daniel Siew's.
How much does the MingPath Year Ahead report cost?
The early price is USD 169 until 30 November 2026. From 1 December 2026 the price is USD 199.
How long until I receive the report?
Your report is delivered by email within 24 hours of successful payment and receipt of all the information needed to prepare it. If your birth time is missing or uncertain, you will be asked for it, and the clock pauses until you reply, because the hour of birth is never estimated.
What is the refund policy?
Before your report has been sent, you can cancel for any reason and receive a full refund by emailing connect@danielsiew.com. After it has been sent it cannot be returned, so refunds are at Daniel's discretion. If something is wrong, such as the wrong birth details, a section that does not make sense or a file that will not open, it is corrected or refunded. Refunds are never automatic, and a person reads every request. The full wording is on the terms and refunds page.
Is my birth information safe?
Your birth details and what you tell us about your situation are used to prepare your report and for nothing else. They are not sold and not shared, and you can ask at any time for them to be deleted. The sign-up form also has a separate, optional tick if you want updates about MingPath, and marketing emails carry an unsubscribe link.
Can MingPath help me plan a move, a renovation, a job change or a launch?
The Year Ahead report is meant to help you prepare for the year. For a specific decision, such as a property or a date, a consultation with Daniel looks at your situation directly.
How is MingPath different from a consultation with Daniel?
MingPath is a written report built from your chart and Daniel's method. A consultation is a personal conversation with Daniel about your own questions and plans.
Does MingPath work for people outside Malaysia?
Yes. The form lists time zones across Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, so you can enter where you were born from almost anywhere.
How do I book a consultation or ask a question?
Book on the consultation page at danielsiew.com/consultation, message Daniel on WhatsApp at +60 19 696 8606, or email connect@danielsiew.com.
The full wording is on the terms and refunds page.
